The Society for Nontrivial Pursuits stems from the Generative Arts Class at the University of the Arts UdK Berlin, and for this expanded ctm-Vorspiel event at MaHalla, we joined forces with our friends and neighbors: Together with the Classes for Design &#38;amp; Computation, Experimental Film, and Narrative Film, we staged a selection of current works in the marvelous big hall at MaHalla. Live performances, installations and screenings came together in the spirit of sharing experiments, learning from each other and enjoying the experience!

Audio-visual installation, 6 sound channels 
(projection, 6 speakers, soil, flax fiber, ropes)

Through audio-visual installation based on the choir of artificial intelligence and belarusan traditional voices are groping the in-between spaces that represent invisible perspectives and register the dislocated, excluded, suppressed voices of belarusan society, leading to the migration. Using the intersubjectivity of voice, the space is created were different entities listen to each other, communicating their languages in a duet of call and response. As movement it passes through and out of individual bodies, as well as between bodies, spaces, borders and encycle them, while tracing. From the present to its representation, from "real time" to deferred time, from the livable to the (in)animate in digital spaces, 2022-2023. &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;@alyakubouskayaoiioiooi.xyz

Fang Tsai&#38;nbsp;Nahweh&#38;nbsp; – The Unreachable –&#38;nbsp;In German, the term "Fernweh" describes a longing to visit faraway places, a "Weh" (pain) towards the “Fern”(distant). However, it also suggests a desire to escape the desert of the familiar surroundings. To emphasize this yearning to depart, I introduce the term "Nahweh" to describe the pain of being too close to the familiar.
In the age of the internet, we can easily view images of far-off locations with just a few clicks, such as through Google Street View. Yet, these digital representations offer only limited information about the space and an incomplete imitation of the actual experience.
"Nahweh: the Unreachable" is a project that explores this yearning for distant places by using screenshots from Google Street View as a dataset. The project uses NeRF rendering to generate a series of semi-abstract 3D spaces that are displayed on a window facing the street. This display invites pedestrians to interact with the spaces and offers a window into a reachable, yet unreachable, space.
